Ireland. The Emerald Isle. The land of beautiful green countryside, rugged coastlines, ancient stone dwellings, enduring history, and wild legend.

Ireland is full of history. Everywhere you go, you are not far from an ancient stone church, or home, or fort. These structures were built to stand the test of time and although most are in ruins, they are still there. Ireland is also a very beautiful country. The coastlines are mostly rocky or sheer cliffs, but occasionally open up to show a spectacular sandy beach. The land is gentle rolling hills of green, but then you encounter small mountain ranges with vertical cliffs dropping into beautiful valleys.

Getting around Ireland is pretty easy, but it is definitely helpful to have GPS. The roads are very narrow and the speed limits on the back roads are faster than what seems safe with some curves being blocked by the shrubs lining the road.
