Helsinki is quite modern and trendy with its efficient public transportation, bike lanes, international cuisine, a large music scene, and it is very clean. Whether you’re a shopper, a foodie, a music lover (especially 80s metal bands from all the tee shirts), appreciate architecture, an eco-warrior, or just someone who appreciates a friendly, great place to spend some time, Helsinki is for you. I’m sure I’d feel different in the winter, but summer is beautiful. Even the airport has a sense of humor when it comes to Finland winter with a sign they had at the airport one November for conference delegates that read “Nobody in their right mind would come to Helsinki in November. Except you, you badass. Welcome.”
