Iceland. The land of fire and ice… and ever changing weather.

Iceland is a land of other worldly scenery, few land animals other than sheep and Icelandic horses, geothermal activity, northern lights, and unpredictable weather. One turn after another reveals varying landscapes, beautiful waterfalls (thousands, if not millions, they are everywhere), and possibly a different climate.

Iceland is small enough and easy enough to navigate that you can tour the whole country on your own, but in order to really see everything and appreciate it, I would suggest 10-14 days in country. Definitely rent a GPS and have the GPS coordinates of where you are planning to go. Not all places have a real address, but would use kilometers from a certain place, or use the GPS position, which is the easiest way to get to, or close to, your destination.
